Went Deer hunting this year in Illinois . Been a while since I done that too but I didn't even see a deer . I think it was because of the weather too. It was cold one day and then hot the next so it wasn't good . But oh well I can try another time too.

Well here it is Christmas Eve now . I hope that everyone is ready and that everyone will have a great time on Christmas . Most of all be safe and have fun . Here in Indiana where I am, it is a little cool out but nice out too. We got a little snow last night and you had to look real hard to see it but it did snow a little . The weather man says we should get a little more tonight. Sure hope so, it sure would make Christmas feel like Christmas better. I am ready too.

I have been told that I will be back at the campground this next season at Georgetown Lake at Philipsburg Bay Campground . Be looking forward in the season when it gets here . I know that I myself miss Montana and the beauty that is there all year round. Also seeing the wild life too.

Well that's about all for now so you all have a great holiday and a merry one too.

This is a bull Moose that came though the campground yesterday morning . He was making some kind a noise and driving the Cow moose and her twins up and out of the campground . At the time of this picture he was going though site #1 .
THIS picture was taken at 4am this morning out my bedroom window . what a surprise to wake up to and my awning was out so I went out and got all the snow I could off of it and rolled it up . It is 31 out this morning too . I'll get more pictures when it gets day light out . There is about 4 " out there now and still coming down . The picture below is of the campground out my back window at 9am 9/26/2013

Yesterday Morning I had to go over to Grassy boat launch and this is what I saw there . Now this is at 7am and second one is about 5 minutes later .
The one below is about 15 minutes later . So now it is about 7:20am .

These two are of the Georgetown Lake also from Grassy boat launch . The one above is with out the zoom and as you can see the lower one is with zoom . A very pretty Lake .
This morning it is 35 degrees out and just a few more days left to go camping before the season will end . It is still dark here so I don't know what it will be like when the sun comes up but I am sure that it will be beautiful to see as it always is .

Sunday, September 22, 2013

I had to go do some cleaning and on my way back as I was coming down the hill to the campground look what I saw!  The picture above is NOT using the zoom and the one below is using the zoom .This was about 2pm 9/22/2013.

Then at 3:22pm this is what I saw ou side my trailer . This picture is looking out the back window at my fire pit and table . I am not using the zoom with any of theses next pictures . They are eating the mushrooms that are growing just out side my trailer .

That orange line you see is my power cord to the trailer . That is how close they are to me .
This one I knocked on the window and the cow Moose stopped and looked at the trailer . There is no one in the camp but me and I am inside because it is cold outside today . When I got up this morning it was 44 degrees out and now it is only 46 and rainy out too. I know you all are tired of all pictures of the moose but at least it is better then having bears in the camp. I just think it is neat that they come around . All we have to do is give them their space and respect them and you will do just fine at a good space between you and them .

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Well this all happened this morning as I was going out to start my day .   As you can see I am at my truck and here is the Cow Moose . I was not using my zoom either . At about 7:15am Mountain time  . That is when it gets daylight here now .
This one is the calf . Man is he or she growing up.
This one is the sunrise this morning and the one below is about five minutes later .

After the sun got out today look what I saw!   SNOW in the high country so it snowed last night . It was a cool 40 degrees out this morning and it did get all the way up to 48 today and right now it is 41 out (9:45pm mt) . The weatherman says it might get down to 32 tonight . Sure hope not . Well it didn't make it that cold but it did get close 36 out this morning and should get up to 56 today 9/19/2013.
This picture is when I was not using the zoom and the one below is the same view but using the zoom .  Hope you all like what I have been doing with this blog this summer because I have enjoyed doing it for you .
It has been fun and the season is about over for this year . So if you can't make it out to camp maybe next year so see you all then okay .

This is the Cow Moose with her twin Calves.  Looks like she maybe trying to potty train the kids. The brown building in the picture is a bathroom out in the campground .
It has been about two weeks since I have seen her and I was very glad to see them again and knowing that they are doing will and okay . The calves are growing so fast too. I also have been told that there is a big Bull Moose around the camp some where too but I have not seen him yet .

Friday, September 13, 2013

I was out this morning walking around the camp and look what I ran into!  The top one is a Bull Moose and the one below is a Cow Moose .

I saw them and so I stopped on the road in the campground to try to fix my camera because I was having trouble with it . Just as I got it working I looked up to see where the Moose were and to my surprise they were right there.   All of theses pictures I was NOT using the zoom . I was not scared and all the Moose did was keep an eye on me and walked away from me . GREAT
Had two new visitors in the campground yesterday evening . . .  Mule Deer and they were eating the mushrooms that have been popping up everywhere in the campground so I guess that they are good to eat but I am not going too try them.
This one is right outside my trailer . . .maybe about 15 feet from it . Both pictures were taken while I was in side my trailer .
I tried to get a picture of the sunset last night but for some reason I can't get it off my camera this morning so sorry it sure was pretty too.
The other evening I was told that we had a Bull Moose come though the campground . Now that would have been neat to see .
Only three more weekends to go and the season will be over for this year so let's get up and out of town for a weekend . The weather is cool at night but nice and up in the 70's in the day time .

Will I had to go to Butte, Mt this morning and this is the sunrise from the GMC dealers ship at 7:15am. neat isn't it . It is 48 out this morning and should get up to about 65 today .

 sunrise yesterday morning
the little sure is growing .
sign that I thought was funny

Monday, September 2, 2013

Today (9-2-2013) while I was cleaning up the campground I saw this . It is a pile of pine cones that the squirrels eat in the winter . Since they can't hide them in the trees they have to put them like this so they can find them in the winter when the snow is so deep.  Neat!

Saturday, August 31, 2013

Lets see now yesterday the Cow Moose and her Calf came back to the campground and the calf sure is growing too. Here are a few pictures of her and the calf in the camp. The picture below is of the bathroom and dumpster near my trailer .

This one is using my zoom . The next two are of a camper that I think is too close but what do I know? Her calf is across the road laying down where mommy told her to stay . Then after awhile she called for the calf and it came over to her and then she made her way up through the campground to the woods out of the campground .

The other Cow Moose with the two calf's have not been seen for a few days so hope that they are all okay .
Yesterday I was told that the campground here would close on Sept. 30th or as long as the weather will let us be open . Spring Hill campground will close on Sept 14th . As of Monday Sept 2 I will be taking care of this campground and Lodgepole campground too until closing day . Sept 12th C loop will be closed for the season . The gate will be closed and B loop gate too will close for the season at that time too.  Also Cable campground will close on Sept. 2 . The season is coming to and end so come on out before it is to late . It gets a little cool at night but get up in the 70's in the day time . Philipsburg Bay Campground will close on Sept. 30 as long as the weather permits us to be open that long .

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

I was on my way back to the trailer yesterday afternoon as I was crossing the dam on Georgetown Lake . It is a big Badger .

Friday, August 23, 2013

Will hello everyone . This is the sunrise yesterday morning . Just awesome .

This view is the canyon on the way down to Philipsburg , Mt. Great isn't it .
And look what I found a cave . Haven't been in it yet but one of these days I will see what it is like in it .
Well that's about all for this time . The weather is nice and the evenings are cool and then the days warm up to the 70's so come on lets go camping before it is to late.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

This is the sunrise trying to show up though the smoke but it is still beautiful on this fine day at the campground . I have been told that the smoke is from the Idaho fire . The Moose lake fire is now 80% out. So that is good . It's a beautiful day here at 47 degrees out and should get up to about 70 today . So come on out . . . there is still a lot of time and good weather too . The wild life is fun to see too. We have two cows moose with their little ones to see once in awhile . Yesterday  I saw an Elk nearby also . Have not seen any bears yet .
We have about 21 campers in the campground this morning out of 68 sites so plenty of room for you to come out for some fun on the lake or just in the campground.
See ya soon now and be safe okay ,
your friendly host Red

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Hi everyone ,
Will the weekend has went well here . Had another full campground this weekend and was sending campers to the other campgrounds in the area . The two mother Moose's with there babies where in and out of the campground all weekend . It sure was nice to see them and watch them play in the lake too . One cow has a single baby and the other cow has twins.  They sure are a big animal . Will not much else to report so you all have a great day and a safe one . Lets get out and do some camping now cause before you know it summer will be over so come on lets go and see what you can find and see.

Thursday, August 15, 2013

Well let's see if I can remember what is what here now that I have them all on here . The first two are of the sunrise yesterday morning . The sun was so bright and orange it was just awesome to see .
This one is just a view of the sky and lake that I thought was pretty .
This one is yesterday morning as the cow Moose and her new baby calf were feeding on the grass in the campground near site B39 . The next three pictures .

The next two are of the Moose last night just before dark feeding in the same place as the morning but the Moose and her calf were in the campground all day going from loop to loop just doing their thing and not bothering  anyone at all . . . just as long as we stay away from them and let them have their space . We did save one dog that got loose from his owner and wanted to check out the baby moose.   Before the cow took over we where able to get the dog to safety . I took the dog to my campsite and tied it up until the owner showed up to pick him up .

It was a beautiful day here in the campground and should be for a few more days so come on out and let's see what we can see in the campground while we can before the snow flies . See ya around the bend here in the campground.
