On the Fourth of July we had a full campground and a float from the Georgetown 4th of July Parade came thru the campground.
We had a couple of lightening storms come thru the campground in the late afternoon and a lightening bolt struck a dead tree in the campground splitting it from top to bottom.
Debris from the lightening strike on the tree scattered bark and limbs 20 to 30 yards from the tree.
It sure did make a mess and the only other casualty was a dead magpie.
This shows how the lightening split the tree all the way to the roots. We sure heard the lightening strike and it scared a bunch of campers. Glad it was up and away from the campground and that no one got hurt except the bird.
